It simply amazes me that Hillary Clinton is still placing blame.
It was the Russians that caused her the promised election. It was Bernie. It was the emails. It was this. It was that. It’s not her fault that she lost. That honor belongs to someone else, probably Comey.
And her loss caused her to be depressed, eat fast food, and drink a lot of wine. Probably expensive wine, but still wine.
It’s not her fault she’s not president.
It’s not her fault she gouged on Big Macs and got drunk.
She would never, ever, do herself willing harm or risk the security of the nation, right? It wasn’t her fault that she called Americans a ‘basket full of deplorables.’ Someone made her.
America has it’s faults… a lot of faults… but I like to think that the majority of people allow second chances. Mistakes happen. Sometimes, people do stupid stuff. We’re people, after all. And, unitedly, we will allow one more chance – regardless of our race, religion, or gender.
For that one more chance to happen, there has to be accountability. A “my bad, I promise not to do it again,” needs to occur. The, yes, I know I did wrong and there’s no excuse for it. I will handle it and swear never to allow this to happen again. A sincere and total apology is required.
Who among us has never needed a second chance for something, anything? Someone gave us the second chance or, better yet, we gave it to ourselves, and carried on with our lives.
To have a chance, Hillary needed to own up. Yes, she used her personal email. No, playing dumb and claiming she didn’t know they wasn’t secure doesn’t work. (Honestly, would you really — want — someone who thinks her personal email is safe without taking any precautions. Really?)
But she tried… boy did she try. Concerts with Jay-Z and Beyoncé must have given her an emotional high. All those people cheering and screaming.. but not for her. Hillary tried to mothball the “Clinton Foundation” and how it obtained funds. Don’t forget the fallacies. A vote against Clinton was a vote for sexism. She was a victim of the Big Bad Trump. Be apart of history and vote in the first female president.
Okay, sure. I would love to see a woman president in my lifetime. I really would, but not a sniveling coward of a woman who refused to take accountability for her mistakes. And, given that it’s nearly a year since the election, still won’t let it go. Hilary is – still – screaming for attention. Pleading. Wanting pity.
No. Nononono. You get one shot. She had plenty of time to take it. Months during the election. At any point, I believe she could have single-handedly turned everything around with just one five minute press conference. A clean and sincere apology is all that was needed.
But no. She’d rather blame.
Nixon tried a version of that.
“I am not a crook!”
It didn’t go over well then and it didn’t now.
Stupid woman.
Oh well.
