Don't live the American dream. Live your dream.

….  and Sneezles the Cat was never seen again  — except when it was time for Temptation treats.

The blessed day has come.
The old roof is being torn asunder as we speak to make way for Owens Corning Harbor Blue.

I haven’t been outside yet, but I see their shadows as they work.    I’m guessing there are four or five guys.   The project leader introduced himself as Juan this morning at promptly 7:30.   They started work immediately, no fuss no muss.

I didn’t even have the chance to offer them something to drink before the old roof started to fall like cherry blossoms.  Hospitality isn’t needed I guess.

Since I’ve never bought a new roof before, I half wanted to go outside and watch what they do.  I’m sure it’s an amazing process.  A roof is a greatly overlooked and highly vital part of the house.  The materials and processes have undergone a lot of evolution.   For the company to be good, they must have received great training and be sharpened from experience.

But…   I think I’ll be here for a couple of hours and head out.
Every time they pull up a nail, I feel the anxiety rise.  We’re contracted for a new roof, but if there’s unreasonable damage…. from like patch jobs, rot, and bad roof from the Sutherlands (previous owners), that’s going to cost extra.     The ten-year loan could easily blossom into something even more unwieldy.

It’s that point where I  hope that the company isn’t trying to BS for more money and while knowing that they’re probably right and the entire house should be rebuilt from the ground up.  /sigh.

Course, all of the work over my head is just reinforcing the need to put in new floors, paint the walls, ceiling, and house.  The house is going to look tacky with a new roof and a twenty-five-year-old paint job.   The ceiling needs some serious attention and the walls are becoming dull.

It’s a whole package deal for me.   It’s really going to bother the crap out of me until everything is done and done properly.

Oh…  They’re using a circular saw on the roof.
I don’t know if that’s good or bad.

Yeah….   I’m going to be leaving earlier than expected.
The fascination for what they’re doing is definitely being overloaded by unfound fears of increased billing.

What am I going to do today?
