Thie Iowa Caucus has happened,
Not a lot has changed on the Democratic side.
Bernie and Pete have emerged the favorites.
Not surprising, really. Warren continues her slow slide backward. She started out hot, but the unveiling of her healthcare system was a self-inflicted wound.
I think the big thing with that is not having a reasonable way to pay for it. There was that whole mess with Obamacare. Premiums going up. Limited doctors. Insurance companies going out of business. That sort of thing. Like cancer, everyone was impacted in some way or another. We’re not ready for Warren’s version of it.
That brings us to Yang.
I don’t know much about Yang besides two things.
– People actually hung support posters for him on the USF campus.
– He was recorded stating that the feeble white supremacist Americans were going to start attacking and the Chinese. By extension, I’m guessing, all Asians.
Yang is propagandizing hate and fear. The tone of his voice and body language seemed that he believes what he was saying. That just brings the question as to why he would want to be a president of a nation like that?
What is he thinking? What does he want to do?
What’s his game? Is he going to promote a new type of segregation?
He’s too unstable. Whatever it is he’s selling, I’m not buying.
Bloomberg…
The Democrats want everything to be ‘equal.’
Free healthcare. Free college. Free… whatever. Housing probably.
They want houses to be built from hemp, only the elite fly, and for America to harbor anyone and everyone who stumbles over the border. Good and bad. Why? Because we’re a rich nation and should be punished and held accountable for our success.
Since Biden is seemingly bombing big time, they feel that Bloomberg is their best bet.
Bloomberg hasn’t qualified or desired to be apart of the political process at all. He doesn’t debate. He goes on to talk shows and floods specific states with radio commercials and commercials. He even has influencers campaigning for him. I guess that’s real Millenial grassroots advertising there.
He’s older, rich, and white. Rather, he’s almost like the Democratic version of Trump but without the zest for argument. He hides in the shadows attempting to buy off voters through sheer propaganda. Bloomberg is showing us what money can do.
We have to show him what his dollars can and cannot buy.
I don’t think the Democrats like him either.
They have to jump, bend, and break all kinds of rules for him to be considered valid. Biden was the favorite son, despite the mess with Hunter, but since Iowa… not so much. Sanders scares them and Warren is too radical. Mayor Pete doesn’t fit the mold. Everyone else has been disqualified or is on their way out.
Instead of letting the people decide through voting — power to the people is part of their ‘motto,’ they’re not allowing the people to choose who they want to run against Trump. And they choose a rich white guy who doesn’t have the guts to follow the rules.
So… No. Seriously a hard no.
By the Democrats granting him aires of entitlement, no.
Mayor Pete…
I’ll always call him Mayor Pete. His last name is hard to pronounce and easy to make fun of.
From Indiana, so he wins in that area… but that’s about it.
I don’t care that he’s gay, white, and not super-rich. He was in the armed forces and I have respect for that. Gay guy in the armed forces must have been difficult. So, kind of prompts to him for that.
Apparently Iowans love him and New Hampshireites are showing signs of adoration. He ticks off a lot of boxes that the anti-establishment would like.
But… for the Democrats, I think he’s too off course. He’s too young. He’s lived a life of what they want everyone to believe to be unfair and downtrodden. But, he did pretty well. He’s running for president.
The Democrats advertise they want change but that’s all it is. Just an ad.
If they where truthful, I can’t imagine a reason why they wouldn’t back Mayor Pete to the hilt… save that they don’t think he can beat Trump.
But, at this point in history, who can?
Honestly, I only know a little bit about Mayor Pete. I have a feeling that I’m going to learn a lot more in the coming months. The one thing I do know is that he endorses making all drugs legal. Meth. Cocaine. Ecstasy.
I’m okay with marijuana being used for medical purposes. Not so much for recreational. Certainly not for all drugs being okay to use. That’s just too much too quickly.
Just allowing marijuana to become legal has caused all sorts of issues in certain states because they weren’t prepared for the repercussions.
I don’t think Pete has really thought this through. He may have good intentions, but legalizing all mind-altering drugs isn’t the right answer.
