Right now, there are two theories about where the virus came from.
I guess it’s indisputable that it came from China, but was it intentional or unintentional.
Personally, I’m favoring unintentional for a couple of reasons.
If this release of COVID was intentional, I don’t understand why China would release it in China.
There’s a saying… don’t shit where you eat.
Most mass murderers know not to kill people around their hometown or where they’re living. It’s too obvious. There’s too much of a chance that the evidence will lead back to the origin.
It’s that simple.
There were plenty of opportunities to spread the virus without having it directly linked to China. Mardi Gras. Superbowl. Spring Break. I’m sure there are lots of awesome parades and things going on in other countries that I’m not aware of. I’m pretty sure Brazil did something…
Anyway, lots of people gather there from all over.
Releasing the virus at a big event would make a lot of people sick and potentially kill a lot. It would spread all over the world. The nation who hosted the event would be hit the worst.
Yes, it is an act of war, but how difficult would it be to trace the virus back?
I know it’s in the SARS family, but SARS is everywhere. The flu is everywhere.
Pinning down China to claim that the virus came from there if there wasn’t any proof would be like challenging China to war.
No one wants war.
Well, I can’t say that truthfully. Wars help economies and spur inventions. Maybe some want war, but would never admit it, let alone accuse China of instigating it through a virus.
The economic downturn in first hit countries would rely on China for sources. They could have made bank and attempt to strengthen their hold on the world economy.
That seems like a win-win for those involved, especially since they have the WHO in their back pocket.
That’s a perfect example of why I’m such a beast to my students about sources.
Nothing can be trusted. Nothing, especially when there’s money involved. They can attest that I’m very instant that the sources they use be legitimate — Well, as legitimate as they can get. I have doubts about ‘academic’ and ‘peer-reviewed’ journals.
The WHO could have the world believing that COVID is just SARS mutated a bit since they’re similar.
I’m just saying that there would be easier and better ways to release the virus, be difficult to track back, and potentially be more devastating than what has happened.
So, that’s why I’m thinking that the virus was accidental, although the virus itself may not be.
Why China was developing a virus like this, who knows?
Where they looking for a way to lessen the lower-class, weak, and aging?
Was this just a stepping stone for something more sinister?
Honestly, who knows?
The answers to those questions will probably never be known. We may never want to know the answer.
One thing is for sure:
China failed to act as a global citizen and notify the rest of the world of what was coming.
“Hey guys, I goofed. Something bad is coming out that may ruin your economy and people’s lives.”
Instead, much like a child, they denied, lessened, and ignored blame.
“I didn’t do it. It was Timmy! He broke the vase!”
Sure, some nations would be a little upset, but everyone would get over it.
What nation hasn’t goofed like that rather it be a virus, nuclear hazards, or whatever?
No one could really point fingers.
The issue would be handled and the world would continue on.
The whole thing is just messed up.
The release of COVID may have been accidental, but the actions that followed where intentional. Some sort of accountability should happen.
Hopefully, that will be that America and other nations pulling production out of China and back into their home nations.
But, that’s another blog.
