The timing is just to perfect.
One day, we have Cesar.
Apparently, he’s a down-on-his-luck type of guy who just got a gig being a DJ at some club for a couple of weeks. He lives in his van that’s covered in pro-Trump paraphernalia, which is kinda rare for Florida, but that’s okay.
Apparently, Cesar can’t spell.
He sent out some packages to “Hilary” Clinton and Debbie Wasserman “Shultz.” As I preach to my students, grammar errors are a bad habit and this particular habit of Cesar helped link him to some bombs he sent to media important Democrats.
While I have little doubt that he did this and, as far as I know, as admitted it, it just seems really strange that the pictures of the packages didn’t seem to be beaten up. They lacked the postmarks or even the sometimes smeary ink. The guy used stamps, not metered mail. It had to have some sort of personal attention or be squashed through a machine. The outer packaging should be beaten up a little.
I’m not an expert on pipe bombs, but shouldn’t there be some sort of timer or way to make them explode? The post office isn’t exactly known for reliability. There would be no way to be 100% fully sure that the package would make it to the intended target… providing that the Democrat recipient actually opens her or his own mail.
I suppose we could argue that anyone who is willing to make and send pipe bombs isn’t exactly the most stable person in the world, but there’s just too many ‘ifs.’ If the pipe bomb would explode during the shipping process. If it was opened by the intended recipient. If it didn’t malfunction. If. If. If. If.
We get it. He supports Trump. That’s well and good. A lot of people support Trump, but few do so in a way that is so easy to become an embarrassment. If Cesar was really passionate about his plans, you’d do it right and not make so many mistakes. The guy is certainly sick in the head, but come on. He could have easily have done some research and found how other mail bombers handled it. At least he could have worn gloves to avoid DNA matching.
If you’re going to do something important – or at least you feel is important – you’re going to do it right.
( – I’m certainly NOT advocating what he did or tried to do, but it just comes across really stupid. If anything, it gave Trump a chance to get on the screen to condemn terrorism – even if it’s against the Democrats.)
On the other hand, we have the award-winning Robert.
I hope Momma Bower doesn’t know about her son’s fixation on anti-refugee, anti-jew, and fascination with blood splatter.
A church is a refuge. It doesn’t matter what type of religion or who is in there. Even if the people don’t believe in the religion of that church, it’s still a place to feel safe. To pause. To meditate. I kind of think of churches as everyone’s time out space. Churches (and graveyards) should just be filled with quiet respect, even if God isn’t present or doesn’t exist. We all need a neutral ground.
That’s really what makes Robert’s actions even more deplorable (and newsworthy). Those people were just doing their thing. They just happened to be Jews. They just happened to be there at just the right place at just the wrong moment.
People sin. We’re all sinners. It’s one of the things that unite up, but… I just can’t fathom why a church. Or, in this case, a synagogue.
I’m sorry. The shooter and I are just a few years apart in age. I know my life is really kind of screwed up and I didn’t exactly have a happy childhood. I’m sure Robert could say the same thing. My mom is from the south and, while she did her best from imposing racism upon her children, her limitations was just not to date them. Even then, if I had found someone who wasn’t white, I think she would have gotten over it.
So, I just can’t imagine what it would have taken me to walk into a synagogue with an assault rifle, two handguns, and kill eleven people and wounding half a dozen more. And, if he was so messed up, why did he wait till he was 46 to do it?
And why did Cesar and Robert had to occur in virtually the same week – virtually captured on the same day?
I’m not as big into conspiracies right now as I was when during the first run of the X-Files, but Cesar and Robert are just to close.
Robert, unfortunately, succeeded.
Cesar failed by lack of planning and care.
Robert doesn’t like Trump.
Cesar does.
All of this happens within days of the hotly anticipated midterms which is propped up to be another event that could be a life-changing event — just like all of the other life-changing events that have happened over the past couple of years. Both are politically motivated to some degree.
Does it seem like a far stretch that Cesar could have been encouraged by the shadowy left while Robert by the right? Each side playing against each other for the ultimate way this country may be run? Politics = money = power. A few lives from the 99% don’t mean anything to them.
It’s just to… weird.
I don’t know, but I’m almost willing to bet that there will be something like this after the primaries. Maybe, within the first six months – And then.. we’ll return to our regularly scheduled programming of foreign nations.
