Don't live the American dream. Live your dream.

Change of plans.

I’m not going to the gym today.   Rather, I’m going to spend the day doing house and yard work.  My right leg is still feeling pretty spongy.   I’ve got to walk about 45 minutes (one way) to get to the gym.   I’m also feeling kind of sunburnt.  I didn’t use sunblock on my little epic trip yesterday.  Who knew I’d need it in – January. –  So….   I’m going to stay here.

Besides, there’s a lot of stuff that needs to be done around here.  Well, I guess it doesn’t need to be done, but I’ve got odd pet peeves.  For example, the filth that congregates around the table supports.   The dust and hair that a broom really can’t get to.   Dirty window ledges gets me.  Overgrown trees and that vine that’s climbing across my cable line… yep.

I did some work when I waited for the air conditioner guy last week, but I think I’m the only one who does work like this.  I guess Jason doesn’t have the pet peeves that I do when it comes to stuff like that.  I blame my childhood.

I cleaned a lot of nasty houses when I was a kid.  I swore I wasn’t ever going to live in one of those.     The house didn’t matter… it just wasn’t going to be filthy.   Filthy like you sit on the couch and feel fleas crawl on you.    Like having to navigate through a maze of boxes and hoarder items to find the bathroom.  Call me crazy, but um.. no.

But….  I’ve gotten to where I accept some things.   I mean, Jason has some bookshelves that he stores his college books.  I don’t think he’s looked at them in years.   It’s not organized and it looks awful.   There’s also shelves full of games.    I’ve tried before to straighten these things up.   I put them in an airtight and somewhat expensive bin so the Florida moisture won’t ruin them.

But, just as soon as I put them out there, they come back.   Magically, Jason needs a book for something or the games just mysteriously appears back on the shelves.

Sure.  Okay.   That’s fine.

It’s give and take.

Anyway, instead of typing, I should get doing.   It’s nearly 10:30.    Once I get started the day will just fly by.

Bug guy came…  We get the house sprayed for palmettos once every three months.  Have you ever seen a palmetto?   Nasty.  They’re a different type of nasty from the northern roaches.   Ick.

Anyway, I need to get started. Lots of pet peeves to un-peeve.

Best –
