Don't live the American dream. Live your dream.

Tomorrow is the Disney holiday – May fourth  –  as in, “May the fourth be with you.”   Cheezy as heck, but Disney made it huge when they started releasing the new Star Wars movies.

I don’t think they really promote that anymore, but a scar has been left on that day.    Thanks, Disney!

New term started on the first.   In another blog, I told you that I had issues keeping the names Tonya and Tasha separate?    This term, I have an Eboeny, Ambir, and Latoryya.  I don’t think adding the extra ‘y’ to Latoryya will be much of an issue, but I’m going to have to steel myself against spelling Eboeny and Ambir correctly.

Unique names.   They’re very interesting, but certainly don’t agree with the spell check and how I’ve spelled ebony and amber for the last thirty-four years.  It’s going to be a difficult habit to semi-break just for this term.

On the upside, my co-instructor is named Mary.  She seems very friendly and helpful – so far.   I’m guessing that she’s in the position I was in — teaching multiple online classes.   But, she also teaches some ground courses.  I’ve never done a ground course.  I suppose I could do one if I have to, but I’m okay online.

Hum…. what else….

I haven’t taken my osteoporosis medicine this month.    I’m supposed to down that $100+ pill at the beginning of every month.  In the mornings, I look at it and go about my day…. which isn’t good.  I pretty much had to bully my doctor into giving me that pill.  I need to take it tomorrow.

Heading back to Florida in 16ish days.    It’ll be taking the red eye into St. Pete after a pretty long day.  Little sister has stuff planned and I think I’m going to be really busy and have to get up early– ish.    Well, little sister doesn’t get up ‘early’ as in my definition of early, but I’ve been trying to sleep later than 4am with some success.  So, we’ll see how that goes.

I’ve been watching 13 Reasons Why on Netflix.   I really liked the first season.   Sure, there’s a crapload of high school drama, but it’s not cheezy like Saved By the Bell.  There’s a lot of different angles and trying to put them together is really a bit of a mystery.

Also, I’ve got to wonder if high school is really like that nowadays.   I can understand the children being LGBTTQQIAAP.    The show’s characters are very acceptable once the student comes out of the closet.   It show covers how the parent’s lives and financial situations impact the children along with their various ethnic backgrounds.  Everyone intermingles.

Which I am absolutely a-okay with, but it’s just so foreign from when I went to high school.

There’s also a ‘communication’ class that harkens back to some of the brainwashings from the House.    The rich have a significant impact over the high school and some of the students are really hypocritical.

I don’t know.    It’s just kind of fascinating.

I’m in the early episodes of the second season.    It’s about the fallout after the first season.    All of the same actors are resuming their roles.   That’s great for continuity.  I heard a third season is in the works.     It’ll be interesting to see where it goes.

I think it’s pretty neat that I actually have shows that I watch and try to watch on a constant basis.    The last time that happened was probably around when I worked at Knology.    I just had to stay up to date on Sex in the City.

Over the past two or three months, I try to keep up on:

Fruits Baskets
The Rising of the Shield Hero
Overlord
One Punch Man
Goblin Slayer
The Handmaid’s Tale is coming out with a new season… so I should probably finish watching the second season at some point.
Black Summer

Just added Ingress and Dead to Me.
May watch Knock Down the House for the hell of it.

Mindless entertainment I guess.  Something to keep me preoccupied while at the gym and watch so I don’t try to go to sleep at 8pm.

I should really get back to my class.    I’ve got discussion and some light grading to do.  Just don’t feel like doing it, but there it is.    I’ll never forgive myself if I fall behind.

– Peace
