Don't live the American dream. Live your dream.

Example of Hypocrisy

Hypocrisy is a big word as takes four syllables.   I think that’s four hy-poc-ri-sy… Yep…  four and I think it’s a word we’ve kind have lost or warped the meaning.

We all subscribe to it to some degree.
It’s like leaving a generous tip at a pricy restaurant and ignoring the panhandler outside.

It’s like women who want to be treated as societal equals, which I agree with but insist on leaving the sinking boat first.  If everyone was equal, ‘women and children’ should just be children.

It’s like when I urge Jason to go to a doctor, but don’t schedule appointments for myself when I know I’m due for a visit.

That definitely makes me some level of hypocrite.

Ms. Elizabeth Warren, a fairly rich woman who has a law degree and has been in politics for multiple years, claimed she was from Native American descent.  She checked that box on surveys and forms.   Not just once, but multiple times during her life, if not her entire life, because she “” thought “” that she just might be Native American.

If this was a really important aspect of her life, 23 and Me began some 13 years ago.  Ancestry DNA was also a viable option and I’m more than certain that she could afford the $100 service fee.   But yet, she didn’t dare until a confrontation with Trump.

But, beyond that, she’s been a law professor for several colleges.  According to Wiki, Elizabeth became a U.S Senator in 2012.  Good for her.  Great.  Awesome.

However, since she is just — now — making an effort to meet with tribal leaders and develop policies that could help Native Americans.

Just now.

If she really really thought that she was related to Native Americans, it wouldn’t have taken very much to actually confirm that before the whole Trump thing.  She’s had the power, influence, and means (politically and personally) to help the Native American community for years and years and years.  Yet, she did not do so until she decided to run for president.

That’s hypocrisy.

She was proud to claim to be Native American on a ‘might be’ from family members.   Elizabeth marked it down on applications.   Intentionally or not, she could have received some benefit for being a minority although she certainly doesn’t look the part.  At some point, I think Elizabeth said that Native American heritage has been with her since the day she was born.

Elizabeth didn’t care until Trump called her on it.   And, now that she wasn’t something, she’s taking actions that she could have twenty years ago.. or at least seven years ago when she got into the Senate.

That’s a hypocrite.
I don’t need another one of those in the White House.

  1. I’m not defending her, but in the midwest, it’s a *thing* that every white person says they’re part Native American. My mother told me I was and only recently I found out she was full of it. Lol

    1. I grew up in Indiana. My grandmother told me that we were related to the Blackfeet tribe, Elvis, and the Duke of York. But, I didn’t mark Native American on any applications for jobs or college.

      Did you?

      2. Exactly!
So, why did she when there was zero proof?
Why didn’t she seek proof before the whole Trump thing. I’d be curious if I was her.
