Okay.
Just a brief overview of what’s going on today.
The news is reporting that COVID cases are increasing all over the globe.
Life is ending. Blah, blah, blah. Course, there’s not a whole lot about what’s going on in Sweeden. Did their herd immunity approach work? Since there’s a lack of coverage, I’m going to guess that the country is doing perfectly fine.
But, as the news keeps spewing, the more people are becoming nervous. At least, that’s what they would like to think. It doesn’t hold true for everyone. The cities that were quarantined and Communist-type restrictions are struggling. As evident by spending, the areas that did not impose overtly liberty threatening restrictions are doing better than their blue counterparts.
Ludicricity is starting to become the new normal.
Reports about violence over wearing masks are commonplace. No one outside of Portland bats an eye as they continue their marathon of violence. It’s just something that is accepted.
Information keeps pouring on all sides that make it difficult to get a real handle on the situation. Is there a vaccine? Is there not a vaccine? Are children, who don’t show symptoms, superspreaders? I think we can agree that the numbers produced by WHO and Hopkins are inflated and definitely incorrect.
Why? Money of course.
This is a really good time to milk the government and insurance companies. The more COVID deaths and infections the better. I bet that if George Floyd had COVID, they would have counted his death among the numbers. Or, maybe they have. We don’t know.
Goalposts keep getting moved. The walls keep inching closer and closer until —
— a. Portland becomes a reality everywhere.
— b. More people rebel – in a big way – like South Dakota’s motorcycle get-together
— Well, those are kind of the same thing, aren’t they?
People going against the norm accept Portland is against the old norm. S. Dakota is against the new norm.
But, after a while, if freedom keeps being infringed and restricted, people on a big scale will learn to accept. They might not like it, but acceptance will happen because it’s too tiring to keep up the energy to rebel. Groupthink will become more strong and that will be the end of that.
Save, of course, for some small fractions here and there. Like the Rebels in Star Wars. But, those fractions could easily be denounced as cults, incendiary, and lethal. Over time, they will become smaller and eventually vanish only to rise up again once every five to seven years.
At one point, everyone used candles for light.
Something better came along – electricity – which was accepted.
Laptops replaced towers. Cell phones are replacing laptops. Kindles replaced books. Streaming replaced (is replacing) UHD.
We consider these things ‘forward.’ Even if they’re worse in quality, more harmful, and more expensive, this is forward.
Is the infringement of our liberty and normalized violence the new normal?
Is accepting handouts and not working normal?
Truthfully, I’m glad I’m in the generation I am. I can’t imagine what I would be if I was twenty years younger.
