Don't live the American dream. Live your dream.

There’s a turkey in the oven.
It’s starting to smell and making me hungry. =)

So, the world isn’t horrible horrible.

Sure, Parlor has been descimated along with freedom of speech.
Thousands upon thousands of American social media accounts are forever suspended because of their personal views.

On the fringe, someone proposed legislation that would ban white men from receiving covid assistance. There was something about highways…. how they where built through low income housing and the people needed compensation. What else? Something about the feds banning the death penalty. (That shouldn’t change the states view, but federal prisoners — like the 911 bomber — would be rent free for life no matter now much damage was done. Oh… Before I forget, there’s an unconfirmed rumor that some talk show company has told Levine and whoever else that they shouldn’t express their views on Trump going forward.

I think that’s some of what’s going on.
It’s shameful and communistic, but do you know what this is?

It’s kind of like a glue trap.

When a place has rodents, there’s a couple of different ways to take care of the problem. Briefly, violent and non-violent.

Violent traps inflict harm upon the rodent until they die.
Poison. Breaking their backs under a metal bar.
— These are pretty swift, sudden, and considered inhumane.
But, they get the job done.

Non-violent traps are designed to cause death. Absolutely.
But, instead of being swift and deadly, they’re slow and torturous.
— Think of a glue trap. The rodent becomes stuck in glue and is unable to move.
Eventually, they starve to death or cause self-harm in an effort to escape.
These types of traps also get the job done.

Honestly, I’m not sure why one is humane and the other isn’t.
Thinking about it, it probably comes down to blame and intent.

When poison or a trap is put out, it is intentional for the rodent to die. If anything else gets caught, it’s accident. The person is recognizing a problem and taking action to swiftly remedy it through violence.

Glue traps don’t kill.
They encourage death, but they’re not the direct cause of death.
Maybe the person who sets out the traps feels better about it.
— Or, they could just be sadistic. Maybe they want the rodent to suffer.

I think American Conservatives are in a glue trap.
Living, sure if you can call it living, but stuck. They can’t progress or seek justice.
Nearly every avenue, rather it be social media or the courts, are being blocked.

So, glue.
Legal and societial satisfaction are being denied.

American Conservatives can either shrivel and die from the lack of substance.
Just like a rodent staring to death.

They can commit violence agains themselves – like chewing a leg off or breaking the law – in an effort to get away. But, that gives cause to bleed out which would also lead to death.

Or, they can hope beyond hope that if they change themselves on a fundamental level, liberals may not think of the trapped as conservatives any more and let them loose. But, that’s really unlikely to happen. Even if a rodent is released, the history and trauma of the past will always be there.

I’m not sure how Americans can get out of this glue trap.
We’re stuck.
