The future is dumb; I’ve decided.

Back in the 80s and 90s we had stuff like Back from the Future to look forward to.
There was Star Trek, TNG. Just… lots of things where pinned on the 2020s. Sure, there’s sound hurdles here and there. That’s what is needed for good story telling.

But, at the end, we were all good guys unless we wasn’t.
Then, if we’re bad guys, we know we’d have a lot of fun until the good guys eventually won.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that life and the world would keep progressing.
Like graphics in video games. Although the graphics may not be put to the best use, the overall results are a lot better than Pong.

But, here we are — in the future.
We’ve made it to the 2020s. It’s unbelieveable.

But, society is entrenched in… muck.
There are other ways to describe it, but muck is a good term.

The world is ending. The world isn’t ending.
It’s scary to assume a boy is a boy and a girl is a girl, because they could find that hurtful.
There’s the pandemic and unfair voting rights.
The courts are exceedingly biased.
I guess Portland is a preview of a dystonpian future. Portland was never on my list of places to travel, but now it’s really not.
The president thinks he’s the vice president. The vice president thinks she’s the president.
Big companies suck the personal information from the bones of the citizens.


I guess the only constant is that Russia is bad, but I never really thought they were bad — even back in the 80s. Given their climate, I always thought they where doing the best they can with what they had. But, guess not…?

Anyway, so far, the 2020s have really disappointed.
It’s got a lot to make up for.

So, yeah.
The future is dumb.
