I think I’m kind of missing the boat on this whole Elon/Twitter deal.
I know that the liberals are panicking and attacking Elon on multiple fronts. The liberal plebs are denouncing Twitter and canceling their accounts. Those who have hidden and manipulated information are afraid that they will be exposed. A Ministry of Truth has been instituted by Biden under the Homeland Security umbrella.
The conservatives are praising Elon. He’s the hero and saving free speech. Elon is the richest man — although that may change based on this deal — on the face of the earth. They are thoroughly supporting him and his endeavors. But, they are doing so blindly almost. The conservatives seem to be so desperate for a hero that they are failing to think rationally.
To me, this is a business deal.
He’s an eccentric, brilliant but eccentric, man, who has enough FU money to buy a social media business that wasn’t turning a profit.
That’s it.
I don’t think he’s vindictive. Elon simply wants to shake the bees’ nest to see what comes out for amusement. Maybe he’s just bored. Maybe this is just another way to get his name in the history books because Tesla and SpaceX aren’t enough for some reason.
I’m not a mind reader.
But, this is just the purchasing of a business. All of this hero and panic is just fluff.
What might come out of shaking the bees’ nest could be interesting. But, Elon didn’t know and doesn’t know what he’ll find.
And the conservatives thinking that the liberal idea exchange is dead is just ludicrous. Librals are, if anything, organized. Or, at least the rich ones are.
When abortion is/was banned, would-be mothers would take it upon themselves to rid themselves of a child through other means. Some would ‘fall down stairs,’ take poison, or find some assistance from unqualified people
Just because something is banned doesn’t mean that it won’t happen in a more violent way.
Since the libs are abandoning Twitter, I think the same situation will happen. They will communicate, scheme, and whatever they were doing on Twitter in a different way. It may not be as obvious and the conservative opposing side could be the aborted baby. What happens to it could be more violent and bloody than what it was before.
What is interesting is the measures from the Brandon administration and the outrage from the leaning left. I discount the name-calling and denouncement of the news sources, left and right, as they are trying to gain attention for their advertisers. It’s important to keep in mind that they need to generate income and this defamation and blind support is one way to do so. Elon’s assumed heroic actions and the opposition paint a clear black and white and the shades of gray are ignored. It’s the Rebels v. the Alliance. Taste great v. less filling. Duck season v. rabbit season.
When things are stereotyped and binary, groupthink is promoted and critical thinking skills are diminished.
Brandon’s actions of quickly whipping up the Ministry of Truth and the DoJ’s investigation into Tesla and SpaceX are * huge. * There must be something hidden that they don’t want to come out somewhere. This is the administration that can’t raise interest rates to slow down inflation, abandoned billions of dollars of equipment in Afghanistan, and mishandled Covid has continually shown incompetence.
Brandon’s administration is writing a history of not supporting the American people. It’s almost vindictively finding ways to continually make people’s lives difficult and destroying futures as it goes on while strengthening enemy forces like the Taliban.
Their sudden and quick action only after a couple of weeks is highly suspicious.
I think that they protest too much.
However, I don’t expect that the American populous will ever fully know the extent of the situation. And, perhaps, it is a good thing we don’t know as it could incite another civil war. Or, at the very least, what happened in Portland would be expanded and duplicated in every state.
In the meantime, I guess this business transaction is enough to distract and amuse when there are far more pressing and important issues that should be at the forefront.
