Don't live the American dream. Live your dream.

Jason and I was watching the Liz Wheeler show last night. It was her Friday episode and she really kind of cheeped out as she reposted an interview she did with some other organization. It was some sort of empowering mothers anti-abortion group.

Okay. Whatever. Most of the time, I find Liz’s voice exceedingly annoying. She talks to high pitched, quickly, and redundantly. She also tends to have this holier-than-thou aura and the whole thing goes into the white noise part of my brain.

But, for some reason, I actually listened to the episode last night and, surprise suprise, it started make me upset.

It wasn’t the topic or midwives, anti-drugs, or questioning the western medical system. I do that myself all the time.

But it was the projection that a woman’s main focus was to have a family and raise children. Women can work outside the home, of course, but the focus should be shifted back to child care.

I can see that assertion and, if the man and woman agree to it, I fully support it.

However, for women (like me) who can’t have children or choose not to for some reason, I felt like the program was ‘othering’ us. We’re not women as we can’t or won’t have children. We’re not involved with raising or supporting a traditional family or interacting with a child in any way.

But we’re not men either.

So, I felt like Liz and the whole program was developing a new trans category for people like me.

I don’t fit into the traditional feminine role. I’m certainly not male. So, I am…. ?

And I’m not sure why that was upsetting to me. I took it way to personally.

Liz also seemed to promote the side idea that the entire purpose of a man in a family was to work, support the wife, and maybe assist in child care from time to time. Men are to provide an example of what boys should be and who girls should marry.

Again, I can agree with that assertion but doesn’t that limit men’s options? What if they don’t want to be trad-husbands to go with their trad-wives? I’m not saying that they should take hormone therapy but they shouldn’t be stereotyped either.

And then what if they can’t have children or don’t want too? What if the woman becomes pregnant by another person or if he brings a child from another union?

I can see that there’s an anti-woke kneejerk reaction starting to take place in America. It’s not surprising and, at one point, it’ll even out (hopefully).

Liz is, I think, not popular enough to be a huge impact. Although she is on Blaze, which I guess is gaining steam, and Glen Beck seems to have a thing for blondes as they have a lot of air time.

But… yeah… Liz really needs to step the heck back and get off her high-horse.

Not everyone achieves what they want or desire when it comes to that. Ignoring and not considering other people’s situations doesn’t help but just aggregates and promotes the tends she’s advocating against.
