During his time, he nationalized healthcare, doubled minimum wage, closed down over a hundred factories, and lectured against the global spread of racial stereotypes in American films.   His small island was the only nation to actually meet the United Nations definition of sustainable development.  The man supported Obama and all of his policies, especially Obamacare.

But, he also nationalized radio, television, and newspapers.  Most, if not all, business became nationalized as well.  His citizens fled from the island, taking refuge anywhere they could.  With the economy in shambles, he desperately relied on outside help for trade

Some called him a dictator who committed various human-right abuses.
Others considered him a hero and his death was mourned and celebrated.

To quote:

The equal right of all citizens to health, education, work, food, security, culture, science, and wellbeing – that is, the same rights we proclaimed when we began our struggle, in addition to those which emerge from our dreams of justice and equality for all inhabitants of our world – is what I wish for all.

——–   This man was Fidel Castro.
He was supposed to be the guy who survived over 600 attempts on his life by the CIA.  He was slandered by the American media.   Feared.   He became the boogyman for a while, especially after Regan and Gorbachev became drinking buddies.

It’s pretty amazing what’s on the Internet.

Those of us who remember the 1980s, probably remember Castro.  More importantly, we remember how much the media despised him, his family, and his policies.

Castro was depicted as this big blurry guy who constantly smoked fat cigars.   Cuban cigars.  Ha ha.

Florida primarily accepted the Cuban immigrants, but Castro knowingly sent those with a criminal history and mental issues as well.

Back on track –
Castro was a communist with socialist leanings.  He wanted the government to control everything.  People lived for the state, not for themselves.  But, everyone had a job and went to school.    I found a quote that said that even the prostitutes had college degrees.

What did people do?   Go to Florida in massive numbers.

Thirty-ish years later, we have this ‘Green New Deal.”
As I understand it, the GND is supposed to provide everyone employment, reduce our carbon footprint, and provide free education.  It’s supposed to build new roads, improve infrastructure, and to really make everyone a Vegan.

Castro was a dictator.   Cuba did not, and maybe still doesn’t, have national elections.  There have been attempts to rig the American voting system so the blue wave can’t fail.  That’s pretty much like a dictatorship.  The faces just change occasionally so different hats can be marketed.

So, I guess what I’m trying to horribly say in a very long round-about way that’s taking way to much of my time is that Castro isn’t dead.   He’s alive and well living in one of his most hated adversaries – the United States.   Instead of Cuban cigars, he’s vaping.

Anyway, I’ve had this correlation in my head for some time and, since I have a little bit of free time, thought I’d try to get it out there. I actually did some research on Castro and it seems that one of the main flaws in his place was money.    He had to rely on others, namely Russia, for financial support.

Well, with the GND, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez says that we’ll just print money.    That way, we’ll never run out.

Problem solved, right?

Castro lives on.
