What’s going on with Jee Rogan and the Canadian Honk fest is pretty mild compared to what we’ve gone through the past couple of years.
It’s refreshing and actually feels more like what the news should be for some reason. It’s not really about Covid. Who knew something like this could still exist.
The Rogan thing is worrisome, but not overly so. I don’t think that he should have apologized or removed over 70 entries of his work. He should be proud of what he does, no matter what the left thinks. Going forward, he could change and do whatever. But, to move forward, the past can’t be hidden.
Besides, apologizing and removing the episodes is just foolheartedly. He’s taking the knee. It’s giving in to the opposition. It’s a peace offering when the other side isn’t going to let him have any peace. If anything, they’re just going to press harder. It’s B.S.
The bigger issue is the Canadian Trucker Freedom Convoy. I feel the need to add Canadian as there are several freedom convoys starting all over the world. It might be important to be able to tell the difference between them.
Americans, of course, will support the convoy almost by default. The working people are not allowing the upper crust. Pretty boy Trudeau is snobbish and in hiding. He doesn’t want to get his hands dirty with this ‘trivial’ and, apparently, recently illegal peaceful gathering. Seriously pathetic.
Canada, like the U.S., is in serious economic recovery from Covid. They have supply chain issues and inflation. I’m sure that they are having the same types of troubles as America is trying to get back on track and, maybe, they don’t have the same resources that America has. I’m not sure, but maybe.
The trucker convoy seriously slows down Canadian recovery. Whoever planned the timing of this thing did a really good job.
Trudeau, instead of gracefully consenting to the will of the people — the same people who placed him in power and could take it away — is doubly down and being a real ass. In his own bunker, possibly inspired by Biden, he is giving petty and pretty speeches.
I support the convoy. It’s just sad that it came to something like this. Those who suffered the most, the workers, are suffering more as they are away from their families, missing paychecks, taunted by authorities, and suffering the severe cold. That’s just a lot and hard to appreciate their sacrifice.
America, in general, is the Canadian truckers’ biggest supporter through monetary donations, publicity, and just moral appeal.
What’s interesting is that some of the conservative talking heads are not supporting the truckers. The right isn’t standing in solidarity. Rather, they’re being considered thugs and rebels. I’m sure there are a lot of other negative words floating around them.
Well, truckers move things. When they don’t move, things don’t move. Their cargo isn’t getting to where it needs to be. The trucks are blocking streets and main bridges so people aren’t moving either. It’s causing businesses in America to slow and stop producing. Essentially, it’s starting to cripple American recovery.
If it wasn’t for that, I think Riveria and whoever would support the truckers.
So… I don’t think that the truckers are being selfish. These are the consequences of their actions that are caused by the government. If anything, the truckers are being the opposite of selfish providing everything that they’re sacrificing. The government is continuing to cripple its people over arbitrary conditions.
Honestly, though, is any type of situation worth this situation?
I don’t think so.
But, I have to take everything that comes through the news and ‘authorities’ with a grain of doubt. It’s really affected how I approach my class, actually. I have an ENG202 class. We have a traditional research paper. Usually, I’m pretty hard-nosed about how and where sources come from. They had to be from journals, from the virtual library (which is usually Ebsco), and cited correctly.
Now… I don’t really care if the sources come from Ebsco or not. I know that there is a lot of corruption in journals. But, that’s all I have, and didn’t want a lot of Wiki and blog sources. Still, I stuck by them. Over the past couple of years, academic and authority corruption has really dug under my skin.
I’m pretty much okay if the sources aren’t from an academic journal. Just as long as it’s not from a biased website which is usually .com an .org, I’m okay. Although, honestly, I’m at the mind that nothing can be trusted.
True, I’ve always felt that. NOTHING can be trusted, but that was government agencies and police.
Now, it’s even more so and reflected in my work.
Oh well, I guess.
