Don't live the American dream. Live your dream.

11/13

Does anyone else feel that this is America’s underlying song since Trump won?

Well, maybe not every American but enough to encapsulate the majority feeling and cultural unrest.

Not cultural unease. There’s been too many historic waves of terror over the pas thirty years, even this year alone, to make us feel at ease. But, maybe some rest could help America achieve that.

Well, cutting up some of the song lyrics from Bonnie Tyler in her song Holding Out for a Hero.:

Where have all the good men gone
And where are all the gods?
Where’s the streetwise Hercules
To fight the rising odds?

I think the telling word here is “Hercules.”
There are plenty of people who lay the claim to being men. They look like traditional men. Some may even speak that way.

But, in the end, they’re really Deliah. Deliah was a person who was attracted to strength. But she was corrupted and, after several attempts, discovers the secrets of strength of Samson and takes it from him.

These people who work against America and her interests have studied and acknowledged where the strength lies. In family. In community. In pride. And, through the use of corrupt actors they are bribed or, for some unknow reason, believe, that these societal pillars are unjust.

So, much like Deliah’s tale, they cut off the strength to leave a weak, struggling, set of people that would be easy to control. They believe that hope is lost.

I need a hero
I’m holding out for a hero ’til the end of the night
He’s gotta be strong, and he’s gotta be fast
And he’s gotta be fresh from the fight
.

This is where we are now or, rather, in a transition from here. Trump has survived legal manipulation, assassination attempts, and an exceedingly biased media. Still, to most, he has undoubtedly that he’s strong as he campaigned virtually non-stop. The quickness of his staff announcements, creating a significant power play for his first 60 days, and already causing compromises and (reportedly) masses of liberal governmental employees volunteering leaving, meets the other requirements.

If given his way, Trump seems to be strong, fast, and fresh, despite trials, personal struggles, and tribulations.

can feel his approach like a fire in my blood
(Like a fire in my blood, like a fire in my blood
Like a fire in my blood, like a fire in my blood, blood
)

Well, without a doubt, the approaching handoff from the Bidem to Trump is causing mini quakes in families, the political arena, or daily life, the landscape will change. How quickly is left up to the infamous governmental committee, to an extent, but change is on the horizon, rather it is supported or not.

Unfortunately, I think heroes are needed. They’re embedded in our society – all societies. One of the earliest concepts, even if a name isn’t provided the ideal of hero is implemented.

For children, heroes are parents and adults although the term isn’t used. They provide food, shelter, support, and comfort. Well, traditionally, they tend to although these have different forms and intensity levels.

There are heroes in media. In literature. There are anti-heroes and those who are misunderstood. We could be unknown heroes to others and heroes without names.

Heroes change over time.

At the end of the day, is the hero concept needed? Should people be more accountable and reactionary, would there feel a need for security blanket heroes to guide and protect?

— Probably.

Heroes help create a feeling of community, togetherness, and just nobility. Strength over doubt is needed and, as humans are social creatures… despite the rise of online separateness… the concept of hero is becoming increasingly important and needed.

I’m not sure how that sets with me.
I would like to fool myself and think that I’m my own hero and I will save myself. But, at this juncture, I don’t think that’s a viable option. Maybe in the future, but not now.

Without now, there is no future. Without now, the past does not exist.

I am overwhelmingly blessed with people who can be considered my heroes. Hopefully, I can return the favor one day and help someone’s now become their future.
