Day ?
I think it’s Tuesday.
Someone told me it is.
Updates –
It’s almost time to order lunch.
No update on plastics. Don’t know that.
I keep getting an ever-revolving staff picks, understandable.
Checked in on my non-class class.
Satisfying; my replacement is a WHOPPING 70 assignments behind. That’s 20 more than yesterday.
— Class ends on Monday.
The students are absolutely going to get some sort of extension.
—– But I don’t get it. 70 assignments behind — some over four days. Damn. There were only 10 when I surrendered the class. Those were just discussions that I couldn’t grade yet cause the week wasn’t over.
What is wrong with the replacement?
Not my problem. Although I want to help. Some would be easy to punch out, and I have time. But … not my problem. Wow.
I’m ” trying ” to chill from yesterday.
When dinner arrived and was grossly not what I ordered, a magical Ensure appeared without being asked, and not quite making it to the bathroom in time tossed up A LOT of red flags.
Asking for turkey for dinner and getting mac and cheese was heavily pushed back to…. to a dark place. I was forced to eat or starve, essentially.
The House
Charis
The psyche ward
I’m doing well.
Probably not great, but well.
With the surgery and one more surgery on the way, I have voluntarily been eating more protein and even a bowl of pre-measured cereal. Fat-free milk. A little different. Baby steps.
But the one-two error (?) of Ensure and an entree of mac and cheese just — I don’t know. Mentally debilitated me.
So, yeah.
When the Ensure showed up unasked at breakfast, but the order was right, I think it might be a misunderstanding. But I’ll see.
Current theory: the hospital added Ensure, and just no one told me. The person I placed my dinner order with was male, not the typical female, so he messed up.
Maybe. I’ll see, one way or the other.
Bottom line – I need control.
This is a point of contention because it’s been taken away from me so frequently and always feels like it’s in jeopardy.
I’m obstinate.
I feel that Big Food plays me. Big Pharma does. The government does.
I’m just tired of being out of control and being played.
I’ve got to dig my hooves in the mud somewhere.
MOVING ON…
I did receive part of the puzzle.
Once I get out of here, I’ll have eight glorious weeks of at home IV.
They explained that something will be stuck in my arm, and I’ll receive the antibiotics by mail. The thing in my arm will not be waterproof and will be covered by some sort of wrap.
A home health aide will come out once or twice a week to bring antibiotics and draw blood for testing.
Right now, the doctor is waiting on cultures to determine which type of specialized antibiotic I will get, as the normal one doesn’t work.
Thoughts —
OMG OMG OMG. A continual needle in my arm. AAAHHHH.
Mentally –
The IV pole and whatever is going to be a constant and visual representation of how messed up and weak I am. I know I’m messed up. But just seeing it. isn’t something I can just ignore or shrug off. Everyone will see it… Take pity… react to me as if I’m subhuman.
I probably won’t be able to do the basics – clean, laundry,
Fingers crossed I can still do the exercise bike.
The doctor said no BLT.
Bending
Lifting more than 5 pounds
Twisting.
Of course, I’ll violate every one of them on the first day. I am right now, as I have to twist to write this.
—— And I can’t just say no, thank you.
If I want to have some sort of future, I’ve got to go through this or… but what future will that be?
All kinds of stuff is going on.
How tired can I become before I don’t?
MOVING ON…
Random thoughts.
Deathly curious about this year’s Black Mirror.
If it comes out, what can it possibly predict?
I have been exceedingly exposed to network TV.
If anything, it’s more crap than what it was before.
It’s just a slower brain rot than social media, but still rot.
Maybe it’s around to transition my generation and gently sunset old actors, to drain the last bit of political and societal influence while pulling in a bit of money to retain legitimacy.
Who really gives a flying crap about Drew, Swank, whoever? They peddle their stories about their allergies, try to sell their diapers, and move on.
At least Anne Hathaway attempted to be relevant but she’s a little younger than them. She’ll start selling her bathwater soon.
Commercials are disappointingly limited.
They’re embedded in whatever show and often have a sponsored frame in the end. They stealthily promote during the show. At least YouTube is obvious about it.
There’s a bunch I determine to be ‘seasonal.’
These, I’m guessing, change based on the year.
Right now, seasonal are:
__ political ads
— cleaning
— shopping.
Political is obvious. There’s a vote in a couple of weeks.
Cleaning (Lysol, ect) and shopping (Walmart, Marshalls) are holidays and the slow unwinding of school starting. With no more Toys R Us or Sears, someone has to fill the gap. Cleaning gets a bonus boost because of flu/COVID ingrained fears.
Then there are, I think, the constant commercials.
— Legal
We’re in America. Morgan and Morgan and their ilk want to make everyone a victim.
Connected – insurance.
Pay us a crap ton of money in case ‘something happens.’ The insurance could easily be more expensive than what might happen. Be afraid and be prepared to win that cursed lottery.
— And – DUH – drugs.
Do you have good Vitamin D tests but feel bad? Then you must have such and such that’s SO RARE it was worth promoting this drug that you have to take.
Have an itchy skull? It’s not dandruff. It’s something in the water, so take this BS stuff.
Tired and Red Bull isn’t doing it for you anymore? Take this liver gummy detox stuff. It’s only $4 a dose. That’s just as much as your morning coffee, and you can still have coffee. It’s fabulous.
Is sleeping keeping you from enjoying time with your kids?
Not as excited by your OnlyFans account as you were last month? Take this! Don’t lose whatever masculinity you try to protect in private.
——– You get the idea.
It’s all branded. Needs an easy-to-get prescription. TrumpRX probably has it on sale.
There are tons of supplements in case you can afford the branded stuff or want that extra kick while on the branded drugs.
But what’s really bad is the shiny non-mRNA COVID vac. I’m guessing mRNA has gotten such a bad reputation that they’re selling the “non” version, which is just spike proteins, rare.
mRNA is kind of like a hamburger.
This shiny ‘ protien’ based COVID vaccination is safe and effective. After all, we all have protein. It’s good for you.
According to Kennedy, we don’t get enough. It builds muscles, and potato chips, mac and cheese, and fizzy drinks. Protein is the hot new thing.
Dunked into some ‘all-natural’ plant-based stuff, this Big Pharma new COVID vaccination can’t go wrong.
Until it does.
So, this is just mRNA with new branding. The same, but just a little different, to persuade those who have been apprehensive about the old stuff.
People don’t pay attention.
Attention spans are decreasing.
TikTok is proof.
OpenAI will tell them the vaccination is safe.
Surely, AI — whose creators think it’ll destroy the economy and end humanity — can be trusted with your child’s health. right?
It’s fine.
This new protein non-mRNA is FINE.
——- Serious sarcasm, of course.
Don’t get it, okay?
Your choice, of course.
But… um….
Anyways….. It’s almost three.
I’ll be a good girl and drink my Ensure soon.
Since dinner is about 6, maybe 330? That’s about when they come in to redo my IV shot. Once every 8 hours, I get something that makes my veins burn for a while.
No more legacy media for me right now.
I think I’m going to watch some Then & Now, the Ask a Mortician lady, and some more CPD Gray on YouTube. Play some Palworld, maybe.
Maybe I’ll dig up another half-thought post and do it too, like I did yesterday.
Okay – cool
Peace.
