Another day, another Ensure.
Well, not yet. Soon.
It feels like there’s a bit of a gap between lunch – around 1 and dinner – around 6.
So, I drink one after lunch and after dinner.
This morning, Dr. Floyde (?) spoke to me. It was 630am and he was talking about some heavy stuff. The brian wasn’t processing well////
Okay, it’s evening now.
Several hours have passed.
In brief –
Enclosure will be Oct 30.
A couple of days of monitoring.
Then, maybe, home with Woundy plus IV Dolly.
Woundy will be with me for about two weeks.
Dolly for eight weeks.
On the timeline, that puts me out of here around the first few days of November. Woundy gone before Thanksgiving. The IV should disappear before New Year’s.
2027 should start with a literally new me.
Well, I’ll still have doctor restrictions and be under monitoring. The back would — really — need to heal and, maybe, the infection just might go away.
Appointments will be important.
I may or may not be able to drive myself. I’ll still be delicate for a while.
Careful. Careful.
But, just maybe, I’ll be able to actually enjoy and, moreover, appreciate the spring. I just might be able to do some gardening, walking in a park, feeling the sun. Maybe.
At first, I didn’t care for the raised box planter. It felt like an intrusion. It felt like a pity crutch. But, you know, I think I appreciate it a lot more now. There’s a second one in the office. Since it took a while for the first one to settle and start growing, I wondered if the second one, if I put it together and let the dirt settle over the winter, would be good for next spring. Or maybe it would be a good present for mom.
JUST RAMBLING.
Um… Maybe I’ll harass someone enough to do something with the porch. With the IV for eight weeks, I’ll have home health aides coming to change the dressing and do tests. I’m certain that Mom will still stop by and, should I be allowed to go outside for appointments and (hopefully) other things, good non-slip stuff on the porch would be very helpful.
It kind of sucks that I won’t be able to shovel, actually. I didn’t mind it last year.
Should probably stock up on ice/snow melt stuff too. Just in case.
Hum… so, am I ‘values action’ or ‘values reason’ in the LIFO thing?
I’m plotting. The day hasn’t gone quite the way I thought it would, but that’s okay.
Um.. I still haven’t drunk the Ensure, and dinner is in a couple of hours. I should probably drink it soon if dinner is at 6ish.
I’ve toned down my suspicion about the food a bit. But lunch came with an unwanted, certainly unasked-for “nutrition” drink that was 30 grams of fat and 600 calories. I’m absolutely certain that came from the Hosp and completed its destiny. It mixes well with city water when you swirl it.
This evening, when I’m asked what my pain level is, I’m going to reply with “6 7.” I wonder if anyone will notice.
