Don't live the American dream. Live your dream.

For some reason, it bothers me when a death is widely celebrated.

There’s a big universe. Billions of stars. Potentially millions of planets. As far as we know, outside of some bacteria maybe, we’re the only intelligent life in existence.

(I use ‘intelligent’ VERY loosely here.)

We’re unique.
Our bodies are an engineering marvel.
Our cultures are diverse.
Languages are many.

Still, we share base emotions.
Our stories are the same, although the names and situation may change.
When we can, we show kindness at the expense of personal gain.
I like to think that we try to grow as much as we destroy.

It’s just no one can really agree on what the terms mean or what direction to go. But we keep trying.

We won, in theory.

We have our conflicts.
Disagreements.
Slayings.
Cults.
Pyramid scandals.
We sell each other and ourselves.

Humans do a lot of stupid things and inflict untold self-harm on ourselves, others, and future generations.

We all live and die in the same way – it’s just the dash that can be different. But the dash is a dash.

I know people will conflict.
We should. It shows individuality.

People will be kind.
We should. It shows selflessness.

I guess what I don’t understand is the celebration of someone’s death by that person’s side. If a mother dies, the mothers of a nation do not cheer.

Intentional abortions – why?
A unique life should not end because a woman wants to experience an abortion.

I’m in an odd mood today.

I think it was brought about by the celebratory posts about Graham’s death. Sure, he may have been an ass, I guess. He was big into wars. Maybe even a bit of a butt-kisser. I don’t know.

But he was elected to office by the good people of South Carolina multiple times. He was some sort of attorney.

Many Americans placed their faith and trust in him.

Ding dong the witch is dead just feels disrespectful to those who voted for him.

At least let the body cool first before the ripping starts.

A little respect for the life.
